Got this vest for daily officer duties and it's awsome. Got it decked out with a Maxpedition Triad (pepper spray, phone, general pouch) and a Max 7x5x2 pouch, swivel baton holder with asp, radio with mic, badge and nametag. Wonderfully versitle, lightweight, breathable and durable. Changed my life in the field in terms of performance and function. Nice velcroed upper back for agency labels. All sorts of size adjustable. Molle webbing everywhere. Can't reccomend it enough. One of the best things I've ever bought. I own a high end Fishpond fishing vest (great products) and this thing makes me want to buy another LBE (in OD)for shooting and to try for fly fishing. If this vest was a girl I'd take it to dinner, whisper sweet nothings into it's ear and ask it to marry me. Looks very professional too.

Vest delivered sooner than projected. Excellent quality. I purchased a black LBE vest sized regular. I'm 5'11" and 185lbs and on the smallest adjustment setting, with vest on, the front zipper has about 1 inch gap. The vest can be adjusted and fitted for much larger body frame if necessary. This vest is really well made and basically purchased this load bearing vest based on advice from nutnfancy's review. I highly recommend you checkout his reviews if you plan to purchase any tactical gear.
Vest was priced well below retail and would have purchased a second vest; specifically, a OD colored vest. Not sure if 5.11 makes OD anymore, I've only seen coyote and black colored vests. I plan to purchased 5.11 rifle and pistol mag pouches soon. Excellent quality.

This vest is everything I could have hoped for! It is a very heavy duty mesh so it will withstand a lot of abuse and is very breathable. The incredible amount of m.o.l.l.e. webbing allows for an infinite amount of customization. It has 2 pockets on the inside front of the vest (1 pocket on each side) that can be used to carry maps, identification, etc. It also has a water bladder pocket on the inside back of the vest, which means you don't have to carry/mount a canteen. There is a nice emergency pull strap located on the inside back near the top of the vest for drag/rescue. The zipper seems to be very heavy duty and the included buckles are nice for extra vest security or for quick mounting/dismounting of the vest (if you don't use the zipper). There is a good amount of velcro on the front left chest portion and across the upper back of the vest. The velcro is awesome in the sense that it is worked in with the m.o.l.l.e. webbing, so it can easily be used or ignored without interfering with you customization. Finally, there are 4 straps on the bottom of the vest (2 in the front and 2 in back) that can be used to hook the vest to your belt. I hope this review helped, because it was very hard for me to find information on this vest before I purchased. Read below for my current rig.I turned my vest into a shotgun rig using mostly Northstar accessories (some Blackhawk and Maxpedition also). I mounted 4 shot-shell carriers (holding 12 each, totaling 48 extra shells), placing 2 on each side of the vest and 1 above the other. I use 3 of the shot-shell pouches for 00 buckshot and 1 pouch for slugs. I mounted a small utility pouch above the shot-shell carrier on my right chest (for cell phone, keys, folding knife, etc.) and a dual pistol mag pouch above the carrier on my left chest (laying side ways). I also have a single pistol mag pouch mounted beside the bottom shot-shell carrier on my left side, which I actually use to carry a small flashlight (I have the same setup on my right side, but I have not decided what to place in it). I mounted a S.O.G. Elite Seal knife with a Kydex sheathe on the front of my left shoulder, with the handle pointed down and the blade facing away from my body, so I can easily grab it with my right hand (I did this using paracord). I mounted a shotgun scabbard on the right side of my back, which allows quick and easy access to my Mossberg 590-a1 "SPX" pump (8+1 shells). I have a medium size utility/EMT pouch on the lower/mid left side of my back. I have a shotgun mountable Ontario Knife Company M1 bayonet mounted on my lower back. The handle is facing out left with the blade facing down, so I can easily reach it with my left hand (mounted using paracord). I also have a heavy duty belt with 2 additional pistol mag pouches (located near the buckle), which I have my vest mounted to (using the above mentioned straps). Finally, I use a Blackhawk Serpa Tactical Leg Holster for my Springfield Armory XDm 9mm (19+1 rounds). Total ammunition is 96 rounds of 9mm (76 in 4 magazines and 19+1 in gun) and 57 shotgun shells (48 in pouches and 8+1 in gun). I am planning on buying another vest just like this one in the near future, so I can make it an AR-15 rig. Enjoy.
Honest reviews on 5.11 Tactical LBE Vest Black
I looked at ALOT of tactical vests prior to settling on this one. So far I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. For the money this thing is AWESOME.Pros:
Light weight
Breathable
Feels very durable
Adjusts in key areas to produce a custom fit for the wearer
Quality construction evident in heavy duty stitching and quality plastic buckles
Lots of attach points for gear
Cons:
Not the most comfortable thing I ever wore but it is a tactical vest after all
Seems a little stiff at first
Overall I would highly recommend this item based on the bang for your buck value and quality of construction that it provides.
