I ordered these pants to have something packable and durable for a trip to Europe. When I got them, they seemed reasonably well made and I'm sure they would have held up to the trip, but they didn't look like what I expected based on the photo. The picture makes them look like they are a little bit curvy and slightly fitted, with a little bit of a flare to the leg kind of a relaxed trouser shape. They are not the same shape they appear to be! They fit me around the waist but were very wide in the seat and hips, the crotch was a couple inches too low even with the waistband up to my belly button, and the legs are tapered, not flared. The material is also kind of slick and shiny, like a windbreaker, and didn't feel very pleasant on the skin. Okay, so I don't need to dress in the height of fashion when I'm traveling, but in my opinion these are pretty ugly and and I decided to return them.Monday, August 11, 2014
Reviews of Royal Robbins Cardiff Stretch Long Traveler Pant
Finally, a pair of travel/hiking pants that's long enough! I'm 5'8", 140 pounds and have long, athletic legs. After reading a bit about them, I ordered a size 10L, which allows them to actually drop BELOW my ankles (no more floods!). The inseam is a generous 34". They have waist tab adjustments as well as ankle tabs, so you can adjust the fit. They have wonderful, flat, zippered pockets on the tush and a "hidden" zippered pocket inside one of the front slash pockets. The pants are stretchy and the fabric is substantial without being too heavy or dense. The workmanship looks good and the fit is great! They do fit at/above my natural waist, but I always wear shirts untucked, so that's not an issue.
