I love this shirt, great year round color. The feel is super soft, very comfortable. It is slightly sheer but a coordinating tank underneath helps.Best Deals for Minus33 Merino Wool Men's Algonquin Lightweight Short Sleeve Crew
I dont know why they discontinued this color as it's the best color for summer use. My only hopes are they come out with another light color. For now discounted prices rock.Honest reviews on Minus33 Merino Wool Men's Algonquin Lightweight Short Sleeve Crew
Great as a baselayer in winter, or by itself in the Florida heat. Currently have three of 'em. Manufacturer plans to add more lighter colors in the future. Wish it was available in "Coyote Tan". Great for walking the dog, or paddling down the River.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Minus33 Merino Wool Men's Algonquin Lightweight Short Sleeve Crew
I purchased one of these shirts along with a smartwool short sleeve and a few different wool longsleeve items. This T was priced higher than the smartwool T, but came with free shipping and after shipping the difference wasnt great so i thought i'd give -33 a try. The fabric is pretty soft, but the cut of the shirt is not at all performance oriented. the whole shirt is 4 pieces. (my smartwool T has 8 panels so the sides are stretchier and there arent seams in trouble spots). There are seams on top of the shoulders (backpack irritation point) and all the way under the arms/down the sides. also the sleeves are at least 1" longer than any other wool T's i've owned (patagonia, SW).If you like 100% wool and plan on wearing this as a normal T shirt, you might enjoy it fine. If you plan to layer with this or do any backpacking or highly kinetic activities, you would have preferred a smartwool.
This shirt would be appropriately valued at 35-40$ with free shipping, or a steal at $30. For $50 get something made by the more experienced woolmakers (smartwool, ibex, icebreaker.....) and you'll not regret it.
Also I recently saw -33 midweight (230g/m2) bottoms and tops, both with more technical cuts available locally for 52$! thats a pretty good deal when their competitors are around 85$ locally. When i KNOW that full thickness pants/tops are available for the same price as this weak T i get upset. I will return the T for another smartwool or try icebreaker.
lastly, size. I'm 6'1, 180#'s, and got a M. If i were wearing it during the spring/summer as a standalone, it would be perfect. for layering under other baselayers its too loose i like my wool to fit NTS.
