I've been playing volleyball for years, and was using Asics running shoes for practice. I really like the Asics quality, fit, and arch support for my feet. However, because I play middle blocker/hitter on my team, I have to jump more than anyone else on the team, and no matter what, my feet would always be killing me after practices. So I started looking for a pair of Asics volleyball shoes, to see if that would make a difference. I bought the GEL Volley Elite, and they fit well. The traction is great. They're comfortable, and didn't take long at all to break in (by the end of the first practice I wore them in they felt broken in). The only downside is that these didn't stop my feet from hurting after practices :( I'll keep them, since they work better than running sneakers for playing, but I guess I'll have to find another solution to keep my feet from hurting!

My 12 yr old daughter is playing club (travel) volleyball for the first time. These girls are hard on their shoes, but these have stood up to a lot of volleyball. My child has issues with her ankles and knees, so we were looking for suport. This shoe seems to give her lots of good arch support (she says it keeps her foot in the right position) but allow for some flexibility in side to side movement. I think they aren't the best for vertical jumping but in every other aspect of play, they seem to work really well. This is our first real volleyball shoe, so we can only compare them to regular trainers, which they are quite superior to. Her coaches recommended this brand and they were right.

These are great shoes. Our daughter really enjoys playing in them and says they are comfortable. We would purchase another pair!
