My Pearl Izumi "Elite" (size M)cycling shorts are very good--both in fit and in quality. Much, much better in both respects than this pair of "Attack" knickers. Because the sizing of these runs small, they are a squeeze, even on my 33-inch waist/33-inch inseam. However, it wasn't until I clicked off 20 riding miles that I realized how thin the material is--when stretched--and how skimpy the bottom pad is. On top of that, the small sizing means that after riding a bit, the smooth fabric pulls up and exposes the lower part of my knees. All in all, not the quality product I expected from this brand at this price. great fit. bought these for my husband who is 6'4" and 195lbs. drawstring keeps snug at waist. good for rides when temps are 40s-50s. chamois padding provides excellent comfort. holds up well after multiple washings.

Best Deals for Pearl Izumi Men's Attack Knicker

Finally! A men's lycra type knicker that does not have shoulder bib supports! Pearl Izumi made the same style for men years ago but for about a decade, and to my chagrin, the regular style knickers were reserved for women only. The argument was that men, with presumably narrower hips, needed over the shoulder supports to keep the short from riding down and exposing the lower back (men should just lose their bellies). I do not buy that argument nor have I ever found the bib style appealing in any kind of cycling wear. These are a non-brushed lycra, are very comfortable, have a good chamois, seem well made and offer a great fit. I have a pair of 8-panel Pearl knickers purchased back in the late 80's that I still wear on occasion, which by the way look better than anything they are making today. These knickers are not as nice looking as those because they are not a true "wet" or "shiny" black, but have more of a very dark gray appearance. Also these have flat-seemed stitching, common with many sports clothing today, which exposes the stitching to both the outside (and inside) the garment, which is intended for comfort reasons. Can't argue against the comfort, but in terms of looks, I do not like the look of exposed seems on the outside of any clothing-period! Overall, I am well pleased with this purchase given my current options.

Fit was excellent. Sits comfortably below the knees. The padding is fairly thick so it helps with the long rides. Wore these in 40 degree weather and it was a bit chilly. Would recommend having an additional layer on top of these if you plan to ride in cold weather.

THis is a quality product. It's warm without covering up your whole leg and the legs don't slip up at all. THis is fine to wear in warm weather as it provides sun protection for your legs, and it won't heat your body up either. The material is good quality and comfortable. I find the padding to be good and works well. Don't wear this with underwear. Wash on gentle cycle with warm or cold water. Let hang dry, DO NOT USE YOUR DRYER as it cause your shorts to wear or damage. Overall, I highly recommend this.
