I've been on a mission to find a great pair of biking gloves. These Giro LX's are the best by far.

I started with the Giro Bravos. The fit well but the padding is only half gel. Spend a little more and get the Giro Monaco.

The Giro Monacos are the best glove out there for the money: Pittards leather, good gel padding, finger pull-offs.

The Giro LX (also listed as Lussos on Amazon) have all the advantages of the Monacos but the leather and padding just feel perfect. They should they cost twice as much as the Monacos for almost the identical glove except the leather and the padding just feels oh so right. I figured after spending a lot on a road bike why get cheap with a primary contact point between me and the bike. No regrets. I should mention I don't think I'll get five years out of these maybe a year, maybe two. Still worth the extra $ for the best.

NOTE: after trying the above Giro models I'm a perfect size Large. The Giro LX's run a size small. I could barely get the larges on or off. The XL fit um, like a glove. Buy a size up with these or they'll be too tight.

The Specialized line had no padding across the top palm no go.

The Pearl Izumis pro gels have been my first choice for years. No more. They have no strap on the back of your hand making them impossible to get off. Plus they just feel cheap. Go for the Giro Monacos as an equivalent model.

These are very nice gloves, I have three pair. But the white gloves stain and discolor quickly, the do not wash well, and once they get wet with sweat and they dry the leather becomes brittle and they rip when you put them on. Two pair of white did not last more than a month, the tan pair seem a little softer but I have not really gotten them wet yet.

I recently got thrown off my bike after running up into a curb at the wrong angle. My bike fell first and then threw me off, and consequently my hands hit the ground to brace the impact, and of course that was the one day I wasn't wearing any gloves (it was hot!). My palms got a bit torn up and there were plenty of scrapes, enough to make me look for some gloves. These Giro gloves are perfect! The price is right, and the quality is wonderful. They have perfect padding where it matters around the palm and are light enough to wear on a cool to warm day. I also love the color and the subtlety of the branding. No huge logos! It's great. The tags are a bit ridiculous, but I just cut them off.

Definitely worth it, I can ride with an assurance that if I do fall again, my hands will be safe!
