I wore these shorts today for the first time and the tongues were hanging out. Need I say more? While many white cycling shorts are thin and see through, these are thick enough to hide any skin imperfections. These are also great to wear when the sun is going down. The cars can see the white easier than typical black cycling shorts. It was a great purchase with excellent quality at a great price.

These shorts are comfortable and cool, no restrictions, the pad is thick enough but not bulky, the leg band is lined with fabric and no pinching or compression marks after a long ride, shorter than the standatd shorts which is great for hot weather and I ride when it's hot(over 90 degrees) , true to size, great for summer riding with the light weight fabric, the waist is lined as well and doesn't cut into you when your bent at the waist, all the shorts I've been able to get at the bike shops are black or designed, the white will go with any of my cycling jerseys and they match my bike, I'm ready for summer riding with my new "summer cool" sugar shorts, the price was well worth the product, money well spent, I plan on buying another pair.

Despite what other reviewers have said about these shorts, they are a bit thinner than I would like for white bike shorts. Also, they run small.

Honest reviews on Pearl Izumi Women's White Sugar Short

As much as I want to love these, and as much as the colors match my new bike, I have to look at the permanent black smudges on all the running shorts I used to wear biking and send these away as impractical.

This is supposed to be just for spin classes but I put it to the test in a triathlon recently after swimming and running in it a few times. The pad is quite generous but dries quickly (if you're wearing it for endurance events DO use a gel on the areas around the pad to prevent chafing). I would suggest that they make it with at least one pocket for energy gels during cycling or keys. I was the only person wearing white in the Honolulu Triathlon, so the color was a plus! Made it easy for my friends to spot me at the finish line.
