I've been very impressed with the fit and quality of other pants that I have purchased from 5.11 Tactical, so I figured the chances were pretty good that the rain pants would also be of high quality. They are. Even being a man's cut, there is enough adjustment to provide for a very comfortable fit for a woman. The rise is lower than many men's pants, so the waistband doesn't come halfway to your armpits, which is nice. As far as sizing goes I normally order a women's 10 in outerwear pants, so that I can easily wear regular pants and thermals underneath. The medium long in these is perfect. Plenty of room to layer underneath, but not baggy so they still look professional for work. The inseam in the long measures about 34.5" (nice to find a company that offers a longer inseam). I have not used them in the rain, but they kept me completely dry during several hours of heavy snow fall.

These layered rain pants have large pockets, block rain and snow completely and are very warm. The only thing is that I don't think they come in woman's sizes and are regular/long. If they could make it low-waist and shorter, they would be perfect. I have tried wearing these during october and it's just too warm. Note that the inner lining is not detachable, so I think I can only wear these during the winter. You may also want to consider Spiewak WeatherTech Tactical Response Rain Pant as well. Spiewak has even bigger pockets but have similar design and materials as 5.11 Tactical rain pants.
