In my experience Ex Officio clothes run fairly large, but these shorts were true to size. I usually take a size 8 and wear an Ex Officio size 6, but the size 8 in these fit well. They can be worn with a straight leg (as pictured) or gathered at the knee. They dry very quickly and would be great for travel or a day at the beach.

The shipment came in on time and in the condition advertised. I used the pants to go hiking in Thailand. They are definitely quick drying which was very helpful when I had to wade into the water to get to the taxi boats. The only problem was when I was hot, the sweat would drip down my leg. On the bright side, I didn't have any lasting sweat stains on the pants!

I like the color (a blue-navy) and the feel (suede-y, but lightweight, and not swishy or cold to the touch), but the overall sizing is larger. I got a 2 and I'd call it a 4--the waist is over 26". I had to nip in 1" at the waist. Also the pictures don't show that the bottoms have an optional cinch on each side for a "scrunching" up. I wanted it to look as neat and straight as it does in the picture, but since all of it is oversized (my legs are kind of swimming in them, almost like gauchos, and not like capris) it looks baggy all over. And it is also too long. I'm 5'3" and even cinched up they are 2" past the knee. I'm keeping them, but as casual, gaucho-ish pants.

Nice washable over the knee shorts for hiking or travel wear. Can button at the knee for a ruched look or leave unbuttoned to have a wider calf flare.
