I am an avid hiker on the AT and various southeastern trails and got this skirt for hiking in warmer weather that usually involves lots of rain and/or humidity (and therefore, sweat). I got the size 4, which is what I normally wear in mostly all brands so I felt it was a safe bet. This skirt fits me perfectly once I finally manage to get it over my butt/hips. The waist has NO give or stretch, so I have to shimmy it up inch by agonizing inch over my widest parts. Once it's over it, it not only fits great but I have some room in the waist and it's super comfy. I suppose the silver lining to that is I don't have to worry about it riding down my backside from my hiking pack rubbing against me? Or suffering from a surprise de-skirting? Another pro is the material is super light and fast drying if you get rained on or sweat a lot. I like the shorts underneath but they are a little loose in the legs. I guess I was imagining compression type/bike shorts under the skirt that wouldn't allow for any "peeking". In other words, I don't know if I could wear these with no undies and feel secure while climbing over fallen trees, etc. The lack of give in the waist and loose under shorts are the only reason I took a start off, and even then I will still make sure to pack this skirt on all my future hikes.

Fantastic skirt! Used this all week hiking in Utah and it was perfect. It dried easily, was kept cool, looked great. Got lots of compliments on it from fellow hikers. I would agree that it is VERY difficult to get on and off if you have any hips at all (this gets better after a few wears do not put it in the dryer when you wash it!). But once its on, it fits great and is really comfortable! I wish it came in more colors.

This is an amazing skort. It fits true to size, is extremely comfortable, and looks great. Perfect for any sporting activity or just kicking about. In fact I love it so much I have one in each color: pewter, black and cairn.

There are only 2 flaws: the pocket they mention is very small. It's large enough for some cash, license and credit card but it's in an awkward location so it's not very feasible. I wish it were large enough to stash my phone too. The second flaw is easy to fix if you know how to sew. The elastic in the waist is very flimsy and tends to roll. I don't understand why they didn't use the good, non-rolling elastic. Especially at the price point of this garment. I have every intention of replacing the elastic in all 3 of my skorts which should correct the problem.

Would I recommend this skort? ABSOLUTELY,

I wear mine when I hike, kayak, walk, bike, shop, or just about town. It looks great with a t-shirt or even a blouse.

After reading the reviews about the lack of stretch in the waist, I bought a size up, assuming I could always just cinch the waist tighter. This worked really well for me, and the skort fits perfectly. It is stretchy and very comfortable. I have been living in it this summer, and just ordered two more so I don't have to laundry as often.

The skort is misleading. There is a draw string waist but it doesn't have any stretch to it so I couldn't get it past my hips. I am not a large girl (ordered a size 4). Disappointing because it is really cute. If you have hips that are larger than your waist, I would not recommend this.
