People can be picky about shoes. Some shoes fit and some don't, with the results depending on the individual. These shoes are built on a last that fits my feet. I've worn Asics for a few years now, and found them to hold up well. They provide reasonable support even when they're falling apart. I'd recommend buying a pair at a local store and wearing them a while. After that, Amazon provides a timesaving way to purchase new pairs. The sizes seem to be accurate across the various models.

I'm 64 and due to an injury prone left knee, I only walk briskly these days instead of running. But I cover about 4 miles four to five days a week. In addition, I weight train for about 45-60min each of those days. These shoes replaced a set of New Balance I just loved. I've been wearing them for about three weeks and have no complaints except for the shoe strings. Seems like they could be a tad longer (maybe 2") and a little more heavy duty. But unlike the New Balance strings, these do not require a double knot to keep from coming untied mid-walk. It's a good thing because they are not long enough for a double knot. I've worn size 7.5D shoes since high school. I have never ordered a pair of 7.5D shoes that did not fit just fine. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I had no issue with the size of these shoes fit perfectly after about two wearings (stretched a little). Comfortable and good looking too!

UPDATE: Been wearing these shoes for 6 months and working out 5 days a week at the gym. I'd estimate these shoes have close to 500 miles of walking on them. They still look and fit great. And,by the way, the shoestring problem mentioned above has turned out to be a non-issue! When/if this pair wears out I'm going to order another pair.

UPDATE 2: After a full year these shoes are still going strong. They have well over a thousand miles on them plus another two or three hundred hours of wear for weight training. They do not look new anymore but are still in very serviceable shape. I scored when I made this purchase!

I read other reviews stating that the sizing of this shoe is smaller than normal, but I discounted it. How else can you order online if not by choosing a size you know works. To illustrate how this doesn't work with this shoe, I bought 2 pair of shoes in the same order. The New Balance Walking shoe, size 10, width D fit perfectly. The Asics GEL-TRX, size 10, width D were too tight. The length seemed OK, but the overall fit was tight resulting in numbness as my circulation was reduced. I had to pay $26 to return the shoes so this turned out to be a costly mistake. Try buying a half size larger than normal.

I spent a lot of time researching the shoe before I went ahead and purchased it. I offer this bit of advice in the hopes of keeping somebody else from getting a shoe to small for their feet. I ordered the shoe size 11.5 4E.

I looked at over 30+ reviews before buying this shoe. Most were 4 or 5 stars, I was very encouraged. I continued looking for more info on this shoe because it was down to this pair of shoes and one offered by a competetor.

This is the first time that I have bought a shoe online so I was a little leary. In good faith I pressed forward and ordered the shoe! It was only after that I purchased the shoe did I find one review that had a similar story of mine! He had also ordered the same size shoe and ended up with the same problem. it hurting his feet very bad.

This is what I have learned from this experiance and about these shoes:

The pros:

I found the design to be attractive to the eye. The triple balck is nice. They came pre laced. No big advertisments or logos on the shoe, and I was very excited to get them. The gel thing for the first 30 seconds was pretty cool. It feels like you are standing on....Semi solid slime, now if only they had fit! I would be very happy.

The cons:

The size is so inaccurate that after a very short time wearing them around the house (less than an hour) trying to break them in, they ached like nobodys buisness. Serious pressure on bothe of the sides of feet. Most noticable on the soft and delicate pinky toes. Even sitting down, the pressure was terrible. I had to curl my toes to make it to my bed to take them off, ouch!

In closing, I am grateful for the helpful people at amazon.com, that is the seller I purchased the shoes from. I am going to go to a store that sells these shoes and try on maybe a 12 4E and see if that fixes the problem. Buyer beware, its almost a heart breaker. This is a shoe had it fit I wouldn't have mind wearing for a long time :(

This is one of te best-fitting athletic shoes that I have owned. It is made of good flexible leather that respoonds well to every movement of my foot. It should be noted that Asics cross trainers tend to run smaller in size than what I am accustomed. Thus, be prepared to order a half size larger or a size wider than usual to achieve the best fit.
