So much better than bug spray no more swatting them off. Goes well over baseball cap so it is not directly against the face. Buy a few.

Honest reviews on Stansport Mosquito Head Net
I bought this mosquito net for use when I go jogging at night during the summer months when bugs of all sorts are out swarming. It definitely has been effective in keeping them out of my mouth and eyes. I wear it over top a baseball cap, which works out pretty well for me. I definitely recommend this; it can be used during a variety of outdoor activities, making your time more pleasant.

This is inexpensive, but works well. I usually hike in the woods near a stream. It gets buggy and the bugs tend to fly near my face. The veil keeps them off. I have worn it with a hat, which keeps the veil away from my face; without a hat the veil touches my skin but I haven't experienced any bites despite this. There is a reduction in visibility. I had read that the color black works better for visibility. As I haven't used a black netting I can't support or refute that. The net folds up nicely and fits in my fanny pack with no problem. The elastic at the bottom prevents bugs from getting under the net. I have used this many, many times and have not had an insect get under the netting. I have learned that if I wear earrings, I need to also wear a hat as an earring got caught in the net. The bottom line is I am able to hike in the woods throughout the season, whether there are bugs or not. I've noticed a reduction in hikers when it gets warm and muggy. The 4 rating is for the reduced visibility, otherwise this is fine.
