These shorts were just what I wanted. True to size, fast drying, comfortable. Great for kayaking or hanging on the deck. Cargo style gets you lots of pockets for your stuff. Just remember to take your mobile out of your pocket before getting into the kayaks!

Best Deals for Royal Robbins Men's Backcountry Short
I'd say the only issue with these is that with swimming and water sports sometimes the pockets don't empty (water) well. Also, they are a bit pricey and "should" be nice shorts as they are. Otherwise, very nice shorts and if you can get them on sale in the 35$ range, buy them. I will buy again (have khaki and everglade both look good).

Apparently the shorts I got were mis-marked. Badly. Had to return them, and I couldn't even say they were just "sized a little small."
