I ordered these for kayak pants. I get a lot of water drip on my thights when I paddle and thought these would work great, plus the waist design (high back and low front waistline) for a bike short would also work great for kayaking.

The fit was great. I ordered an extra small and usually wear a size 2. Nice fit but not too tight, fair amount of looseness for active movement.

However I did return the product. Only because the material was very noisy with movement.

Wonderful product! Due to its light weight, I use it literally in all seasons. I pack it in my backpack when biking, cycling or cross country skiing. I sized up (important!) to have them a bit loose, even though (well, there is a trade off), it now looks a bit baggy from behind. That way, I can keep my other pants on and just add a layer whenever I am threatened by rain or wind.

Of course, shorts are something great for cycling: if you would add long trousers, you may be too warm when cycling! How I came across the idea to buy them: a Dutch friend with daily commute experience highly recommended shorts or a rain coat rather than long trousers. But rain coat is not so versatile, you will not take it with you when hiking. Here, you just add a gore-tex top and enjoy the nature.

When cross country skiing, it is very difficult to add up layers once you are all ready to go. And it can get windy anytime. Very difficult to judge how many layers you need, as you can be warm at -15 C if you go very fast and cold at -5 C if its very windy. These trousers enable me to step into them while having my cx boots on! So all I need to do is stop for 2 min. and step into them. Very useful on long trips or when temperature has not been predicted correctly (or when you thought you can tolerate some cold, but it turns out too difficult).

I have noticed some shorter versions available. I would not buy that. These pants cover my knees and that is just the way I like it. I would not want my knees to get wet in the rain when cycling.
