I've ridden in countless bib shorts, and am keenly aware of the importance of goog shorts for riding. For full retail price, these are still a good value. They're perfect in every way. The fit is tight, without pinching or tugging, they provide great compression, which comes into play after hours riding. The pad is as good as it gets. Very dense, perhaps even hard, but don't move, and enhance the channel on my channelled saddles. They have decent reflective material, when your riding at dusk, or sunrise. The leg length is perfect, and they simply don't move. No sliding leg grippers, no picking the pad out of your a$$, and no need to rearrange your junk, at anypoint, even after 2 and 3 hour rides.

Back to the pad. This IS the BEST pad there is. Its available in other premium shorts, possibbly Craft and Capo's top end bibs. But the fit and stitching of Gore have been reliable for me for about 6-7 years as I move away from Pearl, LG, and Castelli bibs. The castellis fell apart, and the pad stitching irritated me, forcing me to return/replace two pair (out of 5) and Pearls are pretty good, but the pads are to thick and mushy (soft) for my preference.

If you ride three or more days a week for 2 or more hours per ride, you need to spend more on quality shorts. These are my new "go to" and I will purchase another two pairs soon.

These things LITERALLY saved my sit-bones. I signed-up for a 44mi ride a couple of weeks ago, and had just recived these bibs a day or so before that.

So this 44m ride was going to be my first time wearing them. I'm only 1/2 dozen rides in as an adult cyclist, but felt confident that I could complete the 44miles just fine....

...That was until I missed a turn, and all of a sudden found myself following the metric and century directional markers.

(i'm riding a borrowed 2012 MASI HMcarbon and the factory seat is horrible)

That being said, these bibs saved me and allowed me to finish the 64mi course in 3hr45min and I did a total of 75m that day since i rode my bike to the start and home from the finish.

I WILL purchase more of these.

These bibs are everything they should be they fit perfectly, the quality is outstanding, and the pad is exactly what it needs to be. The legs have a compression type fit, but not too tight, just right. The pad is not like a diaper, it is in the right place and not so big that it covers areas you don't need to cover. Also the pad is firm not hard, but firm instead of a soft collapsible pad. Provides perfect support. The Gore brand is really high quality and although these bibs are expensive, Amazon has them for a great price compared to retail.
