For the past several years, I've had trouble with circulation in my feet in cold weather. I was able to manage it fairly well EXCEPT when I jogged. Running shoes and most running socks are so lightweight that my feet were numb within minutes at any temperature below 45 degrees. And if it was windy, forget it. No matter how long I was out, my feet never warmed up.

I did some research online and found that others had experienced success with wool running socks, but our local stores didn't carry them. More research online and decided to try the Darn Tough Vermont Women's 1/4 Sock Cushion. Darn Tough calls it a "Run-Bike Sock". I've worn them on several very cold runs (40 degrees or less, usually with some wind as well) of anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour and have been amazed at how effective they are. My feet stay warm!

I wear a size 8 shoe and purchased the Medium size, which I found to be accurate for me. The socks have been washed a few times shrank a little the first time but not much. I usually hang them up to air out after my runs, and since I only have one pair right now and we are having an unusually cold spring, I've had to wear them more than once between washings. No problem with that, either.

Bottom line: these socks are great. I plan to get at least one more pair for running and am considering another pair for every day.

The Galaxy Boysenberry is a great color combination to get a break from the everyday bland grey or black. If I can afford it, I only buy Darn Tough socks. They wick. they cushion. They last. They do everything a sock should.

I use this sock when I am walking on the treadmill and I love the cushioning as I have had problems with developing callouses and this sock prevents that. Thanks.
