My son had a pair of bright orange pants he was trying to pair up for this season and this jacket fit the bill perfectly. The fit was spot in--true to size, and the pockets meet his needs. 1st skiing trip planned this week but he has worn this coat sledding. It kept him both warm and DRY which some jackets cannot do. Bought this for a sky holiday for a 12 year old. He loved the jacket and the design. Nice and warm. He had a Quicksilver jacket last year and his comments were for this one: "good, but not as good as the quicksilver one".

We live in Alaska, which can be tricky because some jackets are not designed for our extrem weather. My sons school goes out for 30 min. of recess at -10 below temp.! This jacket is made for an active person who will be playing in the snow, like sledding & snowboarding. I think he would need to layer more, if he was just ice fishing, because that would produce less body heat. He would tell me he's fine and wouldn't bother. Having a hood on a jacket is a must for me, because my kids are always misplacing their winter hats. My favorite feature is how you can extend the length of the sleeves when he has another growth spurt. He's 10, tall and lean. The Medium fits him perfect, with room to layer and grow. All that mattered to my son is how it looks, his buddies think it's cool too, and wanted to know who made it and where he got it.
