This softshell will look like any other softshell on the market, but it has a wide variety of pockets, is warmer than expected and fits will for an atheletic fit. My two reasons I reuturned it was that I didn't like the zipper on the jacket that would zip down if I did anything fast with my shoulders and I already had a good jacket that did the job and decided to keep the one I already had.

So very durable, great pockets and fit, hate the zipper.

This jacket is really not that great. I have it in black and wear it as duty gear in Afghanistan. It makes a okay liner but I constantly wear a hooded sweatshirt under it just to keep warm. When I purchased it I understood it was a go between, somewhat warm and weather resistant jacket. I fly around in helicopters constantly and this jacket doesn't really feel like it retains heat very well. You don't spend an entire mission running constantly, there's a whole lot of sitting and standing around. When not active the heat just isn't there. The material isn't ideal for people who work or could work around something dealing with fire. It looks like it would turn you into the human torch quicker than you can say "Zippo".

Bought this as I needed a needed a high quality and durable softeshell that was warm and comfortable at 0C to -10C and this works. The construction is superb and the reinforced elbows are great touch. The slanted rear pocket (zip access both sides) for ambidextrous access is a great design feature. Fit is true toi size chart. This is a premium product and if you are considering a softshell this is well worth examining.

I've previously had Northface, Mountain Hardwear, and Condor Summit. This is an ok jacket, as it requires layering. It's decent on a cool summer night though, but went fishing one morning, and I am glad I wore a long-sleeve cotton shirt underneath, but still wished I had a little more underneath.
