This hat is great! Keeps my boys warm and dry and fits perfectly. My twins are 7 and have an avg sized head. I bought the med/large and it fits great. I am usually a small adult size hat and I can wear this hat just fine too except it does start to bunch a little on the ear part when I wear it, probably b/c it is a tad too small. That said, it fits my kids great which is why I bought it. This hat is very warm but not bulky or scratchy. It also doesn't get itchy when they sweat.

This was a gift for my grandson. I have the same hat in the adult model. It is very warm for its weight, effectively keeps ears warm, its low profile fits under other hats & helmets and its stows easily in pockets. Its effective range is 0-35 deg. F during moderate exercise. Outdoor Reasearch makes good stuff.
