The garters on the hips which give the waist some play is an innovation that I first saw on these pants. There are plenty of pockets, and the discreet zippered ones on the right hip both front and back are a thoughtful addition, significantly cutting the risk of wallet/key lost when you're out in some jungle crawling or rolling about in maneuvers. Though I likely won't be doing such maneuvers myself, when out hiking in the boondocks you would slip and slide on some trail once in a while, and I won't have to worry about losing important stuff stashed in the zippered extra pockets which the cargo pockets also have.
The DWR (durable water repellent) treatment is another thoughtful feature; it happened to rain the night I first wore these and unlike my other cargo pants that are made of cotton twill, which soak up water droplets, the fabric didn't seem to have gotten wet at all. But if you want to maintain its water repellent quality, you need to wash it with a special solution like McNett ReviveX Wash-in Water Repellent or Nikwax Tech Wash which I will use in subsequent washings.
My only gripe is when it arrived it was as if it was ironed with creases and so I had to pop the pants in the washer to get rid of those and now they look a lot less stiff and really ready for some rugged use. An earlier reviewer had noted the color of the olive drab model, which is indeed a different shade of olive from my other OD cargo pants but it's fine by me.

I bought these pants thinking they would fit like my Marpat uniform pants (I'm in the Marines.) however, they are huge on me! I love the pockets and all the bells and whistles, But the pants are soooo baggy my wife cracked jokes at me saying it looked like I was wearing MC Hammer pants. Also keep in mind if you are using a drop holster, you lose usage of 4 pockets on the leg. I would totally wear the pants all the time, they're super comfortable, awesome pockets, durable, but just make me look completely ridiculous. I will be spending the next couple weeks trying to sell these pants to some one that will get better usage out of them than I will.Best Deals for Blackhawk Men's Lightweight Tactical Pant
These pants must have been designed for really bulky body-builder type guys. I'm more of the slim hiker type, and when I put on these pants, they were so baggy that it looked like I was a street bum wearing a rumpled-up canvas sack! This was the case even though I ordered a waist size one inch smaller than my usual (the waist fit perfectly, but the upper legs and seat were very baggy). It's too bad, because these pants have some really great features:The expanding waist band is very nice. My waist is about 31, and I found that size 30 fit very nicely; zero slack, but not too tight.
The knife holder inside the right-hand pocket is way cool. It will keep your knife vertical and easily accessible; much better than jeans, in which my knife falls over and becomes uncomfortable if I carry it unclipped.

So this is my first pair of BH pants. Absolutely love them. Durable, great fit (ordered same size as I get Levis 501s in) and the hidden elastic in the waistband is a welcome feature. The pockets are great, the lower leg pockets even have elastic dividers on the inside...useful for securing a tactical flashlight, knife, or other similar-sized object. There are four pockets with zippers on them (the two lower fronts, one on the right size and one on the right rear) and those work great, even if they are a tad small for a gloved hand. The small front pockets are just right for holding a magazine from my S&W M&P 9mm.The Khaki color is fine...about what I'd expect for Khaki. I will def be ordering more of these in the future. Shipping from Optics Planet was fine. Very smooth transaction to go with a great product.

The pants came in earlier this week, looked good and fit nicely. One of the main reasons I bought them was for concealed carry and they do a good job in that department as my Glock 23 fits perfectly in the zippered pocket and does not imprint when I'm carrying it. With the zipper it is definitely not a quick draw type situation but having it there is a lot faster than going home to get it.The pockets are roomy and seem to be very well made. The only difficulty I encountered is the button hole seems to be a snug fit for the button size and requires some pressure to unbutton the pants when removing them. It may be with time and wear the button hole will stretch a little and make unbuttoning the pants somewhat easier.
In summation the pants are all I was hoping they would be and I may be ordering more.
