The belts construction is excellent. Stiff enough to cary a gun and holster but not so thick that it's hard to adjust as some other reviews said. I wear a size 36 pants and debated on whether to order the L or XL. I opted for the XL, thinking I could alwas trim it and burn the edge if needed. I'm glad I went with the XL because when compensating for my gun with an IWB holster it leaves just enough extra belt length (when fastened) to extend about an inch and a half past the first loop. I also love the fact that it's reversible. Hope this helps someone!

This belt is a lot more robust than other nylon webbing belts. It is pretty stiff and a little bit slow to put on since the fabric is stiff and needs to bend quite a bit to go through the buckle. It doesn't slip or roll over which I've encountered with other nylon belts.

It is a heavy-duty belt more appropriate for wearing with a uniform or for hunting, backpacking, etc rather than a travel belt like Bison belts or Patagonia webbing belts.

I do like that it is reversible, but the green side is still slightly visible when using the black side, so I wouldn't try to pass this as "business casual" on a business trip.

I wear 38" waist jeans and pants and the XL fits perfectly with just enough overlap that the long end hits the first belt-buckle.

SIZE is smaller then I would have hoped. This is the hardest part about purchasing clothing items online. THE SIZE. I am 6 feet tall and weigh about 195lbs. I have recently lost weight and am down from 207. I usually wear a waist size 34 (I should weigh about 185) but with the weight gain I wear pant/shorts in a 34 snug or a 35 comfortably. A 36 is loose on me. So with this belt I purchased it with the intent to wear it at my ideal pant size 34". With my 34" pants on a bit snug the belt is not very long. I have about 3 inches to spare after buckling. So the belt in my opinion should be a bit longer. It is really not a big issue, but may help others looking for sizing reviews. In conclusion to SIZING I am okay with the belt size I purchased (Large 36-38) It really feels more like a 34-37 belt. SO be aware if you want extra room for inside the belt holster you will for sure need a larger size! I would consider buying a size larger.

The belt is great and can work fine as a tactical belt or a belt to use while carrying concealed. I would prefer a more secure buckle if I was carrying my firearm and extra magazines like found on a gun trainers belt from 511, uncle mike or BlackHawk. HOWEVER this belt for myself was purchased for an everyday belt and for a useful belt when I needed for my range or Front Sight time. I am happy I bought it.

Honest reviews on Men's Tactical 5.11 Nylon 1.5" Double Duty TDU Belt

I wanted this belt for a long time, then after reading the reviews, I wasn't too sure. I just happened to be at a store that had them, so I tried them on, as well as other models. What I found, on the double duties, was that I preferred to use the belt that was two sizes bigger, than my normal pant size. One size bigger works okay, but I found that I can get a better grip on the extra length to cinch up the belt, for the correct tightness. Forget about using your pant size to determine correct belt length, with this belt. You will hate it if you go that route. Two sizes up worked awesome for me, because I liked to use the extra length as a handle to grip the thick material through the buckle, and adjust the tightness. The belt does not slip, it is thick, fairly rigid, well constructed, and has two color choices on each belt. Since this belt has no Velcro to wear out, I believe I can get many years of everyday use out of these. I will only recommend this belt, if you are willing to go a size bigger, or even two sizes above your pant size.

I am a big 5.11 fan. I own just about every other type of clothing 5.11 makes, so I was really disappointed when I got this belt in the mail. It seems like a good idea. One TDU belt is $15ish, so $20 for two seems like a great deal. The problem is the way 5.11 makes these. This belt is literally two TDU belts sewn together, that's it. There is a full green TDU on one side, and a full black one on the other. This makes this belt twice as thick as a normal TDU belt. This extra thickness makes for extra stiffness, and I could not get the belt to tighten easily once threaded in the buckle. It might loosen up after a while, but I'm not sure I want to wait for that. I'll be trading this for just a 1-color TDU belt.
