These are my first pair of clip-in bike shoes. When I decided to go from mountain biking to road biking I also wanted to start using clip-in shoes. So I did a lot trying on of shoes at the stores and found a few that I liked, but was still hesitant on price. Then I saw these here on Amazon. I had tried on some similar Giro brand in the store and liked them, but they were a moutain bike shoe rather than road bike. Mountain bike shoes have more tread on them like a boot so you can walk in them, whereas road bike shoes are made to be worn on the bike and really for much walking at all. I had also done some research and read that Giro makes a good fitting shoe. The price of these was within my range so I decided to give them a try.
I normally wear a women's size 7.5 or 8 mostly 8 so went with the size 40 in these. My foot is not wide but it's definitely not narrow either so I was a little worried about these being too narrow. However when I slipped my feet into these wow! they fit like a glove! super easy to put on and I adapted to the clip in pretty easily. Although if you're new to clip-ins I highly recommend you read the manual and adjust the settings to make it easy to clip in and out. You need to practice before going on the road, too. I sat on my bike in my house, on the carpet, holding myself up braced against the wall and practiced clip and unclip until I was comfortable enough to take a ride around the neighborhood and try some more. After a few rides it became pretty natural movement to clip in and out.
Oh, and the pedals I use with these are the Shimano SPD-SL PD-R540 Clipless Pedals (White). the pedals work great with these shoes.
I am on the bike for at least 2 hours a day on saturday and sundays and these shoes remain comfy. Make sure the socks you have don't bunch up, though or it can be irritating and you'll need to adjust them. I use sport socks that are not too thick and they work great. Anyhow, I am super pleased with these shoes and look forward to putting them on every weekend.

Got these shoes and they are great but a bit small. I am a size 9 and got a 41 to fit me perfectly.

I finally bit the bullet and went clipless with these shoes and love them. My only complaint is the black velcro under the straps, it's more visible than what is shown in the picture, it's never completely covered by the straps so there's always black exposed. No biggy but just a side note in case you were hopeful it was all white. other than that i love them! i ordered the size 40 and typically wear a 7.5 or 8 (if i want extra room to add an insole). Fits great and was even able to double up on socks during cold weather without them fitting too tight. it's better to have the shoes too big rather than too small so you can allow room for your foot to swell, which is natural.

I am size 9 and always like to order a 1/2 1 size larger so my toes don't hit the edge of the shoe (risk is your big toenail gets damaged discolored or even dies). So I went with a 41.5. It was way narrow and too short. I had to return them.

The positive with the shoe is that they are very nice looking...I loved them when I took them out of the box. Unfortunately for me, these shoes are not compatible for the cleats needed for spinning. I even took them to a professional shop thinking that I was just ignorant in the types of cleats available. That was not the case...they simply can not be used for spinning. Another negative is the sizing. I wear a size 7 and selected the 38, which according to all of the conversion charts I found would be the appropriate size. The size was actually a 6.5..a bit snug!! My advice would be to be careful with the sizing and do not buy for a spin class. Good Luck :)
