* Great color, though not true to stock photo
* Comfortable material
Cons:
* Inaccurate sizing, runs even smaller than Prana Sutra pants
In my experience, all Prana Sutra pants and shorts run one full size larger. The Indigo color shown on the stock photo is darker than the actual color, but they look way better than some light denim shorts/cut-offs.
So if you normally wear:
30-32, go for Small
33-34, go for Medium
35+, go for Large
Prana doesn't make these in XS. The shorts do fit a little more snugly and true to size than the corresponding prAna Men's Sutra Pant, but unfortunately for many yoga practicers, who tend to be quite slim, these shorts will not comfortably fit anyone with a 29 waist or below. They would fall straight off your hips or fit very loosey with the drawstring tied.
All in all, if you do happen to wear a 30-35, I highly recommend these shorts as everyday casual wear or as yoga wear because they are absolutely comfortable and very stylish. They also hold up well in the washer/dryer, but I would recommend a low dry setting to increase longevity.

Love these in the long pants version. The shorts are a nice length. I hate short shorts. These come a bit before the knee which is a nice look on me. Also very comfortable fabric light and soft to the touch. My only complaint might be price but i guess you get what you pay for. Plus prana is suppose to have good business practices and in light of recent disasters this makes you extra good about wearing them.Best Deals for prAna Men's Sutra Short
Got these for $42 from amazon and they're great! The cut allows for full splits, with deep pockets, super comfortable! Cannot wait to get a pair of Prana pants...Honest reviews on prAna Men's Sutra Short
I love Prana clothing and these are no exception. They are smaller than the pant version, so if you are borderline go up a size. My husband is a size smaller than me and he is wearing these no problem.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for prAna Men's Sutra Short
I have a few pairs of these shorts, i use them as my everyday casual shorts. The material is light weight, the hemp and recycled bottle fibers give it a very sturdy yet light feel to it, while the lycra fibers give it a subtle stretch to it. Even more weight is saved by omitting the zipper yet keeping the (false) flap to give the appearance of having a zipper. I like them as casual shorts because the material is light weight, breathable and due to the natural hemp fibers, gives it the look of a more dressy type casual shorts.I have used them for yoga but prefer not to use them for that because the closure is a 100% draw string closure (no elastic) and if that fails then the shorts will fall off. The draw string is very sturdy and made of the same material as the pants and has a very grippy feel when tied and has not come undone in class but i don't like taking the chance. For yoga i prefer something with an elastic or board short type closure and a synthetic material.
Though the Sutra (long) pants are good for yoga practice because they cover the knees and allow you lots of grip when you go to crow, side crow, half crow, flying pigeon, or any pose where you want grip between your legs and arms.
Other reviews have mentioned either sizing up or down, I found the sizing to be true to size. I've tried on both a larger and smaller sizes, the larger size was too big, the smaller size was way too tight. They do go on baggy but the draw string is sturdy and grippy and holds up the shorts well.
I also like to sleep in them because there's no elastic so no pressure against your body while sleeping.
