I ordered this product to repair a small tear in my Tarp Tent Contrail made by Henry Shires (amazing ULTRAlight tent!). The tear was small, and caused by heavy winds that moved the trekking pole support out of it's sleeve and onto the nylon (my fault). Henry sent me a few pieces of the material he was using at the time (great customer service too).
After cleaning both the patch and the small tear with an alcohol prep pad, I applied a thin layer of ultra sil (without using the provided gear tape) and applied and smoothed out the patch, per the directions. I ended up with a purely seamless patch that looks as if it has actually become a piece of the surrounding fabric. I haven't been able to speak for its durability, but as clean as this repair ended up, it's going to last as long as the tent. Great product!

used it on a pair of yellow raincoat and pants with suspenders. All I'll tell you is they split at the seam, luckily I was at home and not out in public when it happened! It's hard to make long-term repairs on sil-nylon, which is impregnated with silicone and therefore resistant to sticky things. I used it to repair a 3/4 inch cut in a sil-nylon tent. The kit uses transparent "Tenacious Tape" on the outside, and a sil-nylon patch held by a silicone clear adhesive on the inside. It is holding up solid after one backpacking trip. Either the price should be $2 or the kit should include more than three lousy patches. Anyway, a roll of Gorilla Tape works better, applies more easily.
