I got these for a backpacking trip on Appalachian Trail mainly because they were lightweight and had a good quantity of wool in them. They have been FANTASTIC socks. They wick well by themselves and for hiking I used poly-pro sock liners. I now keep a pair in my Bug Out Bag because I like them so much. They also work very well for cooler temps in the sleeping bag to keep my feet warm. I just keep a clean pair in there and when I crawl in the bag after the days hike put on clean dry socks.

Good socks but hi top is deceptive. These are crew top. That said they are better than the Nashbar logo'd DeFeet socks.
